Our precious Lincoln Ray Remmel
by Lincoln's grandma
Lincoln is my grandson. I have a total of nine incredible grandsons; eight with feet and one with angel wings.
There is not a day that passes without Lincoln in my heart and in my thoughts. I am so proud of my daughter and son-in-law for the choice they made to carry Lincoln and give him a chance to live. After receiving the diagnosis, they treasured every kick throughout the pregnancy and we never gave up hope that we would indeed get our miracle and our much loved Lincoln would live. After all, countless people from all walks of life were praying. Some of them we will never meet, but they prayed.
We came to know and benefit from the strength of many angels that we pass every day as we live our lives. Rick Sturtz, who crafted the beautiful casket, was one of those angels, along with so many more.
The 83 minutes we had with our littlest angel are priceless. I often wonder what Lincoln would look like at almost 3 years old. I remind myself every day that all he ever knew was love and kindness and that gives me peace.
I will be eternally grateful to Crocker Stephenson and his beautifully written and sensitive article about my much loved grandson.
